Day 1
G: After a 13 hour flight we arrive in Colombo and put up in a 5 star hotel. This is the life.
Moe: Hopefully the security don’t remember me from last time…. Don’t think they do but I’m bigger than them so they are probably scared

Day 2
G: Crazy 9 hour drive from the west to the east coast of Sri Lanka, drivers are mad over there. Bus broke down in heavy rain, all fun.
Moe: 3 sleeping pills and 6 hours sleep later(best way to enjoy basically a 9 hour game of chicken in a bus) then the bus almost leaves without me when I was checking out a waterfall!!.

Day 3
G: Surfing aragum bay, had a quiet one in the first morning, just 5 people out good waves, moe was too hungover from a night out with the boys lol, rough day for him in the hot box no star hiltton, we need air con.
Moe: Epic session with Sills’y, Mr Phillipps, Dodo and Adam!! South Africans sure can drink, 6am fumble home being thrown over the hotel wall by Sillsy as the early risers were walking up the point for a dawny. Hang-over/jet lag in 40deg moist heat n only a crappy fan 2 keep the sweats at bay. Good surf before dark even though the eyes were still blurry; overhead, clean 400m rights……….peachy!

Day 4
All 32 uk surfers and media/organisers/etc arrived so Lineup super crowded some good waves none-the-less

Day 5
G: Surf is cooking but its quite crowded, a long tanning session in the 35 degree sun should get the white skin a shade or two darker, maybe not tho i got sun stroke instead. Nitemare.
Moe: Chilled in the morning and watched ‘The Human Milk Bottle’ get misused by mother nature.haha

Day 6
G: Round 1, good waves gave it ago but felt too ill to surf, learned a good lesson, fake tan next trip haha.

(George 2nd place 1st Round heat but still ill)
Moe: 3 feet clean but super quick on the pushing tide. Oh and I’m in with current UKPSA no.1 Stokesy…beeeeeauty!!!! Caught a few waves but no decent scoring ones, wave selection could have been better on the super quick right hand point.

Day 7
G: Round 2, got off to a great start scoring a 7 something in the opening minutes, waited patiently for another set wave, we had 25 minutes heats and the sets in previous heat were approx 12-15 minutes, 3 minutes left nothing had came through, i panick and catch a small insider that didn't even have the potential for the score, got 3rd so knocked out the comp, only caught 2 waves the whole heat, gutted.
Moe: Bit bigger today so looked forward to getting on it with just 4 guys out. Watched Georgies heat to see him get a stonker as I walked up the point and gutted for him he never got another one. Got one solid wave myself in the heat but knocked out:

Day 8-10
Couple of good body surfs and learning how to use the water camera at our secret surfin point not the best wave in the world but waters warm and theres noone around, except the odd bit of wildlife lurking around. Some good nights out with the boys now, Richie sills won the comp, guys a legend.

Day 11
G: Back in the bus to the City of Colombo, me and Adam thornton thought we were gonna get killed this night lol, dont wonder around Colombo in the early hours looking for a beer.
Moe: 11days with infected foot=swollen like Darth Vaders helmet!! No beer for me tonight L. Stayed up to hear Georgie almost got ‘chibbed’ cos he was in the wrong hood.

Day 12 - 13
G: Fly to Singapore then off to Bali, singapore airports the best one ive been in, so much to do while your waiting to fly,
Moe: Singapore rocks!!! Bring on Bali….. to be continued......

Sri Lanka is an epic country, the people are really friendly, foods great, waters like a hot bath, consistantly fun waves, cheap flights + cheap living, get over there.

Cheers to Damo for his organisation and hard work on the day, Georgie for all his efforts in the run up to the event, Ester Spears for a great judging course and helping keep us all right, all the judges for giving up their time to sit out in the cold, Caithness Boardriders and the thurso locals for supporting the event and giving up their breaks for the weekend, Tempest surf shop and cafe for space, food and warmth, and all the competitors who came from as far afield as Devon to compete!

well guys, it is time for a brochsurfclub refresh and to make it more interactive and easier to update i figured that it would be best to go with a blog. That way more of us can contribute and you'll have a greater chance of getting more updated info
